SEASON 2 begins TODAY!!!! Week #1---The LBD

As if you can't tell by all the capital letters in the title, but we are just a teensy bit excited to get Season 2 of Project Sewn going.  And this first week's theme is one that we are thrilled about.

This week we are all about.....

Most fashion historians credit "The Little Black Dress" to the 1920's designs of Coco Chanel and Jean Patou and were dresses that were intended to be long-lasting, versatile, affordable, accessible to the widest market possible and in a neutral colour, which was most often black.
While there have been lots of famous "Little Black Dresses" in fashion history--the most famous is probably Givenchy's version that Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.  I still ohh and ahh over that dress. It is Little-Black-Dress perfection!
And while the LBD is still considered a staple in any wardrobe in any fashion is oftimes hard to find one that has a great fit.  So, we thought that it would be a perfect way to begin season 2, where we can all make some LBD's for us to wear this fall/winter season.

And wait until you see what the designer's have come up with tomorrow (you are going to be oohhinng and ahhing all over the place---we have been behind the scenes.)
But, now we get to ohhhh and ahhh over the Little Black Dresses that you have been working on!

We are opening the linky party below....and it will close Thursday night sharp at 8 pm (MDT).  The voting will open up over the weekend so that you can vote on the Sew-Along winner!
So, let's see them.....The Little Black Dress.

  1. I already have the perfect LBD in my wardrobe (it looks almost exactly the second on the last raw on your first image), so I won't play along this week. I'm curious to know what the designers will come up with though.

  2. So how do others get to be a part of this "season"? I have just stumbled onto this site and would love to know more about this competition!

    1. Each week we have a sew along that any one is welcome to enter. This week the theme is "The Little Black Dress". Next week is "The Era Challenge", then it is the "Graphic Print Challenge", and we will end this season with "Signature Style".

You can find more details and information by clicking the post over on the sidebar that says, "Project Sewn Season 2---Here are the Themes"

  3. I'd love to participate, but I need to be working on Halloween costumes instead! Maybe next time.
