Love it or Leave it: The Maxi

Spring is upon us and that means maxi season.
Maxi skirts and dresses have been all the rage for several seasons now and we are wondering:

Are you still loving them or are you ready to leave them?

Choose an Icon: Jackie or Marilyn

Two of America's best known fashion icons were contemporaries' of one another...and although their popularity occurred simultaneously their styles were very different.  Who are the two powerhouses of style that I'm talking about?

Why, they are none other than Jackie Kennedy

and Marilyn Monroe

Both of these women are fashion icons in every sense of the word...their influence is still felt today as their styles are copied and influence younger generations.

Jackie Kennedy was know for her simple, classic, elegant style.  Instead of prints she, instead, chose to wear plain, bold, solid colors on her well known knee length day suits and her A-line gowns.  These brilliant color choices and styles were often paired with her signature pumps, pill box hat, a string of pearls, and silky to the elbow gloves.

Marilyn on the other hand was all about the glamour!  She is best remembered for her blond locks, red lipstick, and high heels.  Her style was meant to turn heads.  Winged eye liner, low cut dresses, tight fitting sweaters, and shorty short shorts...it was all about attitude, appeal, and allure.

So you decide....which fashion icon do you prefer?
Jackie with her classically chic?  Or Marilyn with her glamorous vixen?
(Or are you like me and fall somewhere in between?)
